Parish history

An Orthodox community in Ingolstadt since 1945.

The Orthodox parish in Ingolstadt was founded in 1945. Its founders came from the first and second waves of emigration: people who had left Russia during the Civil War and those who found themselves abroad after the Second World War.

The Orthodox faith united people from different social backgrounds and with different political views, helping them endure wars, camps, repression and separation from their homeland.

These photographs preserve the memory of community life and the people who laid its foundations. Let us look at their faces with gratitude.
